CranioSacral Therapy
Neural communication in the body.
The craniosacral system includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It reaches from head (cranium) to tail (sacrum). This system plays a critical role in the development and functioning of the brain and spinal cord. Imbalances and restrictions can potentially lead to sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle method of evaluation and treatment which assists your innate healing mechanisms in neutralizing and correcting the negative effects of stress on your central nervous system.

History
John Upledger, D.O., O.M.M is an osteopathic physician, researcher and educator who has been a proponent of utilizing CranioSacral Therapy to enhance the functioning of the body and help alleviate pain and discomfort.
His work evolved from his personal experience witnessing the rhythmic movement of the craniosacral system during a spinal surgery and information based on cranial osteopathy from Dr. William Sutherland. Since 1985, Dr. Upledger has been teaching the public and healthcare practitioners about CranioSacral Therapy through The Upledger Institute.
